OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
|
- To promote and campaign for the rights of PwDs by engaging all stakeholders.
- To raise awareness about disability, its prevention and treatment.
- To liaise closely with various media groups in the developing the CoRSU profile and coordinate related activities to increase brand awareness, visibility and recognition in Uganda.
- To network with government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to improve the acceptance of PwDs in society.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
|
- Plan, develop and implement Public Relations Strategies that support promotion events for PWDs
- Supervise the Customer Care and Front Desk Officers in all aspects of client/customer relationships and administrative requirements.
- Demonstrate respect for patients, their families and the public; the Board of Directors and the visitors regardless of tribal origin, gender, race, age, religion, disease process of financial status.
- Social media management – Regularly monitor and update CoRSU social media or online sites, accounts like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the Blog.
- Website management – Work closely with the IT team to fully manage the CoRSU website; generate and review content for publication on the website to keep people informed and respond to inquiries about CoRSU hospital.
- Support CoRSU Fundraising, media communications and public events.
- Review the Communication and the Branding guidelines in coordination with the Programs, Partnerships and Networking team and SMT.
- Reinforce the PMO team in documentation, reporting and photography for fundraising purposes and report writing to all stakeholders.
- Work closely with the program and Communications Officer to regularly write stories for publications to raise CoRSU awareness and for fundraising purposes
- Liaise with media houses and the public to create awareness and visibility and handling their inquiries through approved communication channels.
- Provide support to the CoRSU teams by writing and distributing CoRSU Content (i.e. news/ press releases to targeted media regarding CoRSU reports, research findings and training publications).
- Ensure that basic data is captured and analysed regarding CoRSU public relations; customer care/ client relationship and visitors’ engagement activities and statistics are complete and available.
- Collect and analyse all media information that are relevant to CoRSU and where applicable give official response from CoRSU.
- Participate in writing and editing in-house publications, successful stories, speeches, articles and reports for submission to the various consumer groups / stake holders.
- Support the preparation and production of information materials such as publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, annual calendars, annual reports, promotional videos, photographs, films, multimedia and CoRSU programs/projects.
- Organise foster and manage CoRSU events and community relations including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours through community initiatives in the CBID program.
- Receive, coordinate and orient visitors (on what CoRSU does and give them hospital tours) as and when necessary.
- Represent CoRSU in relevant for a, to visitors and make presentations on behalf of CoRSU at conferences, meetings or events.
- Manage any crisis or a potential emergency situation that the PR aspects are required of.
- Any assignment given by the immediate supervisor relating to CoRSU work and activities.

- Excellent use of Computer programs, particularly, office suite programs
