Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) Services

This is the community arm of the Hospital. The aim is to provide psychosocial support to patients and their caregivers, conduct patient home follow ups, conduct community engagements and awareness activities, as well as strengthen community structures and referral pathways to the Hospital. Psychosocial and counselling support is mostly conducted within the hospital.
This is because many clients that visit the hospital are usually faced with numerous challenges, like financial difficulties and other social challenges from their families or communities, that may affect the treatment and healing of their loved ones. Through these sessions, clients are assisted in devising mechanisms for how to cope with various challenges.

Awareness creation is normally done during community outreaches through radio talk shows, community meetings and patient follow-up visits. The patient follow-up visits are important because it is through this that the Hospital can monitor progress of treatment of clients. It also helps to minimize barriers to full recovery.
