About nursing care
Our nursing department places patients at the centre of its services and makes sure they are cared for holistically. It continues to be one of the strongest departments in the hospital.
The team’s focus is to keep upholding professionalism, compassion, integrity and competence, all centred on its mission to provide excellent, specialised nursing care based on best-evidenced practice.
CoRSU has strengthened the capacity of the nursing team so that it can provide standardised, quality care to people with disability.
In 2024 the department had 69 full-time nurses and 5 part-time nurses. The team held 22 Continuous Nursing Education sessions, all nurses attended Basic Life Support and Paediatric Advanced Life Support training, and 12 nursing standard operating procedures were updated.

Patient story
Ezekiel’s story
Ezekiel was one week old when his parents brought him to CoRSU. The family received counselling, nursing care, nutrition education, surgery and therapy, and came back to share his third birthday cake with staff.
