For the past year, I’ve had the privilege of volunteering at CoRSU, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities in Uganda and beyond. While I may not have a medical background, my experience has been nothing short of rewarding, and I want to share a glimpse into the incredible work happening here.
My role primarily involves assisting with administrative tasks and social activities for the children at CoRSU. From organizing fun games and creative sessions to simply lending a listening ear, I’ve witnessed firsthand the positive impact even small gestures can have. The joy on a child’s face after mastering a new skill or the sense of connection during a heartfelt conversation is truly humbling.
CoRSU fosters a warm and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Witnessing the dedication of the staff and the resilience of the individuals here has been an inspiration. Volunteering at CoRSU hasn’t just been about giving back; it’s been a journey of personal growth and a chance to connect with a truly remarkable community.
