Lower limb amputation after severe burns(01)

Lilian is walking again on a new prosthesis

Lilian was badly burned as a baby, and in 2020 her lower left leg had to be amputated. A prosthesis from CoRSU let her walk and run again, and when it wore out, CBM helped CoRSU give her a new one free of charge.

“Children with a disability should never make it an excuse that limits their wellbeing.”

Mild spasticity of the right arm and leg(02)

Mercy's foot is stepping down again

Three-year-old Mercy could not put her right foot flat on the ground. Two weeks after she started wearing a 3D-printed night splint made at CoRSU, her mother saw her foot stepping down again.

“When we used this device for 2 weeks, I was glad to see her foot stepping down again.”

    Spastic cerebral palsy(03)

Praise is walking better with a 3D-printed orthosis

Fourteen-year-old Praise has spastic cerebral palsy, which made walking difficult. A 3D-printed ankle-foot orthosis, made and fitted at CoRSU within five days, is helping to improve her gait.

“Please send my sincere appreciation to the people who have helped us get this device and CoRSU that is helping us in rehabilitating Praise.”

    Clubfoot in both feet(04)

Kimra is walking in his new orthoses

Six-year-old Kimra was born with clubfoot in both feet. The orthopaedic workshop made him a pair of 3D-printed ankle-foot orthoses, which he now wears day and night.

  • A young woman in a white dress and a pink face mask sits on a treatment couch while a clinician in blue scrubs kneels to examine her lower leg.

Robinah is training to become a fashion designer

Robinah first came to CoRSU in 2011. Her artificial limbs have helped her attend school, and she has now enrolled in a tailoring course.
