Rehabilitation Centre, phase 2

Start date depends on funding

Phase 1 of the Rehabilitation Centre opened in June 2024. The second phase is designed and budgeted but not yet funded. It would let CoRSU offer rehabilitation services that are not available at the hospital today.

  • Budgeted at about USD 2,000,000
  • Hydrotherapy
  • A gait laboratory
  • A fully equipped gym
  • Training and capacity development in new rehabilitation services

Surgery for 100 children on the waiting list

Following the October 2026 walk; results not yet published

The 2026 CoRSU Disability Walk set out to raise UGX 400 million to pay for surgery, therapy, assistive devices and follow-up for 100 children. Close to 300 children a year remain on the waiting list for lack of funding.

  • Target: UGX 400 million
  • About UGX 4 million for one child’s treatment
  • Would cut the yearly backlog by about a third

The next CoRSU Disability Walk

Held each October since 2024

The walk raises funds for children’s surgery and rehabilitation, and shows that disability is not inability. The third walk took place on 4 October 2026. The date of the next one has not been announced.
