Kimra's story

Kimra is walking in his new orthoses

Six-year-old Kimra was born with clubfoot in both feet. The orthopaedic workshop made him a pair of 3D-printed ankle-foot orthoses, which he now wears day and night.

Before CoRSU

Kimra is six years old and comes from Masaka. He was born with clubfoot in both feet, a condition in which the feet turn inward and down.

Care at CoRSU

On 10 September 2024, Kimra was recommended for ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) on both legs. The orthopaedic technologists scanned and measured him that day, and he was fitted with his 3D-printed AFOs on 7 October 2024.

At his two-month review in November 2024, he had been wearing the AFOs around the clock. The team noted that the soft tissue under his feet felt less tight, and they continued to monitor how he walks.

Kimra now

Kimra keeps coming to CoRSU for regular reviews, so the team can follow his progress as he grows.
